The Gabba

Named after the suburb of Woolloongabba in which it is located, and with a seating capacity of 42,000, the famous Gabba Cricket Ground is just a short bus ride from the city of Brisbane. Visitors can check out locals, the Queensland Bulls Cricket team or the Brisbane Lions Australian Rules football team, depending on when you choose to visit. Over the years The Gabba has hosted athletics, Australian rules football, baseball, concerts, cricket, cycling, rugby league, rugby union, soccer and pony and greyhound races. Queensland Maritime Museum

Located on the southern bank of the Brisbane River, the Queensland Maritime Museum was founded in 1971 and contains two exhibition buildings displaying historic sailing ships, tankers and cruise liners. It also includes a library, which exhibits documents, photographs and other artefacts relating to maritime history. Information is also provided on the 1,500 plus shipwrecks that have occurred along the Queensland coast, including the Great Barrier Reef.
